confession
Today's poem comes from a NaBloPoMo: Read, Write, Poem challenge. Get some random words generated at read, write, poem, and write an 11-line poem. I refreshed 11 times and used the words, in order, in the following.
confession
today's tragedy becomes yesterday's stain,
while unblemished days crack and wither
like dry leaves, then cleave to skin,
good and bad commingled, a spin-art vertigo tat.
today cracks and crumbles;
tomorrow rubs, begins to blister.
hear my confession: delight and despair
evolve into just a sticky, rousing memory,
but we thrive on the rubble of days.
hear my confession: I am drunk
on this dry elixir of a life.

What a great poem to find in random words!
My favorite line:
we thrive on the rubble of days

Sounds like a view of the passing of time seen from a dry moment. I enjoyed meandering through the poem, like watching falling leaves.
