Space

This week, Poetry Thursday asks for a poetry snapshot.

space

everything comes between us
matter and ether
tense tangled strands
catching what ought to dwell
in the void of the unsaid,
which gathers like birds on a wire.

everything that used to come
between us and them
cleaves us,
puts a world between us.

fly, birds!
take this space
the way you carry off the trees
and building tops
with unison flight.
soothe us with your wings!
bind us with your song!

For Poetry Thursday.

This is so tight, clean. Really wonderful.

Thank you for the birds...I've been loving birds a lot myself these days. I think there's something about the changing of the seasons, and the bird's ability for flight--out of the darkness into the light--that makes them so appealing right now.

"If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know this is poetry." - Emily Dickinson

Soaring with the birds - thank you.

Wow. Quite wonderful. Love the line "tense tangled strands
catching what ought to dwell
in the void of the unsaid"
