Patience
By yesterday, the Homewood branch of Bank of America should have received my four-page letter (on the topic below). If I had signed my customer up for a home equity line of credit, and she sent me a letter with details of even half the horrors I described, I'd have called her immediately upon my receipt of the mail, and I would have assured her that I would get to the bottom of the problem.
But many people, it seems, have lost the sense of customer service. Perhaps the branch manager is getting to the bottom of it before she calls me. But the truth is that the person who heard my story last Wednesday, one week ago, in the Homewood office, should have followed up with me, rather than waiting for me to chase her down.
I will wait, patiently, for a few days. If I hear from no one, I will start screaming. (You will probably hear me; I am loud.) And then, once it's all resolved (because it will be, if not by phone then in court), I will find myself a better Home Equity Line of Credit with a better bank, pay off my loan from Bank of America, and remove the thousands and thousands and thousands (kidding) of dollars from my accounts.
Thank you for your comments and support. Don't give your money to Bank of America.

I just read this and the previous posts. It gives one a feeling of outrage and frustration. Maryland National Bank was my favorite bank until the changed hands. I dropped them. They lost that friendly customer relation feeling they had.
I hope everything works out. Nothing like inept employees that keep passing your problem to someone else to handle.

This is the glorious Service Economy that we keep hearing about. The bank employees aren't paid enough to give a shit or even be competent. I bank with Wachovia and they are no better.
The best service I've had is from credit unions.

If possible, join a credit union. We live in Howard County and we have been really pleased with APLFCU. You only need to live, worship or work in the county to be eligible. Maybe there is something like that in Baltimore?
Good luck. I didn't like BofA when I lived in Oregon and that was before they took over the country!
